Lovely cotton ready for the CAL
It’s going to be so much fun!
sounds intriguing
Good to hear 😉
Thank you – sounds great
Hi Shelley
I was hoping to create ‘Greg’ using 3 colours. The Main squares in Teal and/or Blue and then joining them with White to co-ordinate with the quilt on my bed. Do you think this will work? As Tom has 9 squares I thought I would do 4 of one colour and 5 of the other. Then alternate the numbers when I get to ‘Joe’.
I have just received a delicious package from Bendigo Mills!! Can’t wait to start ‘Tom’!
Thankyou for your help and lovely patterns 🙂
Cheers, Donna
Hi Donna. I think this is a decision best made by you. I can email you just the layout with no spoiler pictures if you like to you can see if your plan will work. let me know if you do and I will send it to you. BWM stuff is so lovely isn’t it? I hope you enjoy making Tom 🙂
I decided to use the 3 colours for my blocks and will use another to join them. Works out more even with the numbers that way! I’ve finished Tom and will post a pic when I find the hashtag for Instagram! Thanks for the pattern, I’m enjoying it so far. The Bendigo cotton is so lovely to use!
So good to hear you’re enjoying it Donna and the Bendigo cotton too 🙂
Looking forward to the CAL! Love your books, just got the newest one, “Flowers Abound”, it’s splendid! All those flower variations, a joy to look at & read. Can’t wait to make one.
Thanks so much Pat! That’s great to hear. I hope you enjoy playing!
So excited to start. I made the mistake of taking hubby shopping to BWM for my wool, and during the hour of me making up my mind on colours, he has renamed GREG to Trevor. And now asks me every day if I have started Trevor yet!
hehe – Greg- Trevor – we can call him ‘mate’ too 😉
Hi Shelley. I ordered TOM and I got a mail for the download, but I can’t open it. What do I do now?
I’ll send and email to you Pia 🙂
Hi Shelley,
I am having problems with rows 5 and 6. When I get to the last few stitiches I am not sure where to put my hook and the holes on this side are a lot less prominent than the other 3 corners. Is there a video I can watch to see where I am going wrong?
Speak soon.
Hi Jayne 🙂 The end of Round 5 & the beginning of Round 6 are the bits I was referring to in the post where I link to a video about seamless crochet and a blog post.
Have a look at those and see if they help. If not, head to the Ravelry group or shoot me an email via the contact me and I’ll help you out further 🙂
I can,t seem to find the pattern to download! Could you point me in the right direction
Thanks
Sue Lambrix
Hi Shelley!
I am keen to join your CAL however I will need to purchase some yarn. I was looking at BWM cotton but was wondering how much to purchase … What would you suggest in their 10ply?
Thanks Margaret
Ahh! Just found the post with this info! All good … Ordering yarn now!!
Margaret
Good to hear you’ve found everything you need Margaret 🙂 Have fun!
Thanks very much for your generosity in sharing this beautiful project. It’s extremely thoughtful of you to provide both a U.S. and a U.K. version.
Lisa
My pleasure Lisa 🙂 I remember when I first started how hard translating was. 🙂
I would like a peak at what it will look like please
Sent 🙂
Hi Shelley!
My Toms appear to be slightly smaller than my Joe squares, is that correct?
Hi 🙂 My Toms and Joes were the same size, but some folks did find Joe to be a big bigger. If it’s just a small difference, it wont matter with joining 🙂 If it’s a big difference you can replace the last round of dc(US)/tr(UK) with hdc/htr 🙂
Okay, thx for the quick answer!
It’s a small difference, so just 3 more Joe’s to go ….instead of all 12 🙂
I just found GREG thru a link on the lovecrochet blog and would love to join. Hope it’s not too late.
No way, you’re never too late! 🙂
Just download the patterns (recent posts on the right) and enjoy, it’s fun!
Gosh no – anytime to begin is fine 🙂 Hope you enjoy it 🙂
Hi.. I would like to have a peek on the finish product.. Thank you!
No worries 🙂 sent 🙂
Sick doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel right now. The thought of unpicking or starting from scratch makes me want to cry. Is there any possibility that the pattern can work with the original instructions?
You can Viv. All that will change is the layout. As the squares are the same size, it’s just the placement that will be different. All the strips are done now as it’s just the big squares to go. If you like, I can send you the layout only with no pictures so you can see what changes you need to make. Let me know and I’ll email it to you if that will help. So sorry 🙁
Yes I would like the layout but happy not to see the big picture. I just cannot unpick all those squares without making a big mess of them. Thanks
Ok I’ll send the layout only for you now 🙂
Im making this for a christmas present.Thank You for all your time and effort into the pattern!
My pleasure Nicole 🙂 I hope the recipient likes it.
Hi Shelley. Im having so much fun with greg…oh geez that sounds alot naughtier than I meant it. Can I also get a squiz at the layout as I too have been using different colours….appreciate it
hehe Sarah 😉 I will send the layout to you now 🙂
Hello Shelley, When you have some free time, could you please email a copy of the layout for the GREG CAL. Thank you so much. Can’t wait to complete this CAL – Love the simple squares so far. I’m making a solid and would like to start a multi colored one.
Again, Thank you!!
No problems 🙂 I’ll send it now 🙂
I believe I left out part of my email when I ordered the Greg pattern last Friday. It is
