Dahlia Delight Free Pattern for the Friends Around the World CAL

Dahlia Delight Free Pattern

I do love a CAL (Crochet-A-Long) don’t you?  So fun to hook along with other folks making fun new things.  So when I was asked to contribute a square for the Friends Around the World 3rd year Anniversary CAL being organised for the huge CAL -Crochet A Long Facebook group, it was an easy yes from me.

The Friends Around the World 3rd Anniversary CAL 2018 (lovingly referred to as FATW3) began on Friday, November 16th, 2018.  The CAL is a collaboration of crochet designers from around the world and is being hosted by the  CAL – Crochet A Long Facebook group.  There will be videos for all squares in the CAL. A few of the designers have created their own (me included).

Be sure to join the group first and then join the event so you won’t miss a thing. It’s always fun to share your photos as you progress through the CAL.

The FATWCAL afghan is made up of 12″ squares using Aran/Worsted weight yarn, (10″ squares if you use DK weight yarn). There are 33 squares in all, designed by 29 designers. The links to the patterns will be shared weekly on the CAL – Crochet A Long Blog,  at 10:00 am CDT (that’s Chicago, IL USA) on Fridays. The CAL will run through early June, 2019.

Dahlia Delight

So now it’s my turn to share my pattern, Dahlia Delight.  I went for a solid, slightly textured design that works in many or one colour.

The pattern includes round by round photos and a link to my video showing you how to make the square!

So here is she is, Dahlia Delight!  Its’ the one second from the bottom, on the right side in the pinks sampler above)

Simply click on the button below with your preferred terms and a new window will  open up with your file.  You can then download it to your device. Or head to Ravelry if you’d prefer to do it that way. There are other language versions in Ravelry as well – Danish, Dutch, French, German, Hebrew, Korean and Swedish.

Each pattern in the CAL needs a few extra rounds to help make them all consistent.  Those extra rounds can be found here on the CAL Crochet Along Blog.

I do look forward to seeing your Dahlia Delights take shape.  Please share them with me!  I’d love to see.

xx Shelley
