Granny Square Crochet for Beginners Free ebook

Hi folks.

I want everyone to learn how to crochet.  Even those who’ve tried and given up. That’s why I have written a free ebook aimed at teaching complete novices how to pick up a hook and make a granny square.

Inside you will find everything you need to know from how to hold the hook to changing colours to weaving in ends and even the mysterious “blocking”.

I include detailed step by step instructions with a picture for every step.

It is available free on most online book selling sites including  Koboitunes, Barnes and Noble to name a few for all kinds of ereaders.  If you don’t have an e-reader, don’t despair!  It is also available in PDF format from Smashwords and my pattern shop or just click the button with your preferred terms below. Easy. 🙂  Please note, if you choose to go to Amazon, the book is 0.99 cents as I cannot set the price to free there, but due to their price matching policy, it should be free there anyway.

So there you go.  Pass it on to friends who are always telling you how they wish they could crochet.  I am sure with a little time and practice, you’ll have a new crocheting buddy in no time. There have been some great reviews posted about it like this one

on July 7, 2015
I’m a knitter who’s tried to pick up crochet a number of times but I’ve always gotten frustrated with the instructions (across a wide range of books). Usually the photos weren’t clear enough at a critical point or the steps were made to seem overly complicated. This guide explained the steps is a simple, straightforward way with pictures of every step. And the digital format let me zoom the photos if needed or easily click the links to watch the videos. After just a short time I now have a completed granny square! Instructions included details on finishing and joining colors too. Couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you so much for this great tutorial! I can’t wait to crochet my first afghan!
Thanks Crystal!

The awesome cover is thanks to the brilliant Michelle Lorimer.  If you are after some website prettifying or branding help, she’s your girl 🙂

Once you’re comfortable making granny squares, you might like to check out my other e-books you can read about here.

Thank you so much for sharing. It takes a lot of work to put something like this together, and especially so neatly and concisely. I am an experienced crocheter, learning how to knit as well! Despite that, it never hurts to read the tips put out for beginners as you never know what you might learn. I am grateful to you for this work, and your beautiful photographs. I don’t know who wouldn’t want to learn to crochet after seeing everything you have done!

Hello! Thank you for the free e-book on Granny Squares. I’ve been crocheting since I was 8. The Granny Square was the first thing I learned. My Grandmother taught me. 🙂

In reading through it, I saw that you use a Treble stitch. I usually use a Double. Is the book in US terms or British? The directions for a TR look like the same as a double. Just checking to be sure. I would like to tell some friends who are just beginning and I don’t want them to be confused.
